Halloween Skeleton Candle
Here are some fun Halloween candles I worked on this weekend. I used little plastic bones and glass bowls I found at the dollar store. They turned out super duper cute!
When you're burning your new candle, as the wax starts melting, the bones float around a little, adding to the creepy effect.
It's fun to do unique projects like this. You can make things that no one else has but you!
Happy Haunting!

Halloween Skeleton Candle
Supplies
candle wax
a glass bowl
20 drops essential oil made for candles
3 pre-made candle wicks
small decorative plastic bones
coffee grounds
image for the sign
cardboard
Mod Podge®
hot glue gun
double boiler
Instructions
1. Melt the candle wax in a double boiler. You can use whatever brand you like. I like organic soy wax because it burns nice and clean. Add the essential oil and remove from heat.
2. Pour the wax into a glass bowl. Add the candle wicks right away. Be sure to use wicks made for candle-making. You may need something to support the wicks until the wax sets up. You can lay pencils or paint brushes across the top of the bowl and let the wicks lean against them.
3. When the wax is halfway set up, press in your decorative items, such as little plastic skulls and bones. Use a longer bone as the pole for the sign. Before the wax sets up completely, you can sprinkle coffee grounds over it to look like dirt.
4. You can find tons of Halloween printables on Pinterest®. Set your printer for the smallest size of the image you want. Cut it out and trace around it on a piece of cardboard. Cut the cardboard to size. Then Mod-Podge® the image onto the cardboard. You may paint a single color on the back of the cardboard if desired.
5. When the candle wax is hardened, hot-glue your sign to the post you set into the wax.
