My Olde Country Home volume 1, second edition

The second edition of my first cookbook, Olde Fashioned Christmas Desserts, is now available on Amazon®. Currently the paperback and hardcover versions are listed, and the ebook version of this 2nd edition will be up soon.

It contains many of the old traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations in my family.

The first edition of this book was published back in 2023. Ever since it went out of print at Barnes and Noble, I've had many requests to bring it back in hardcover and paperback. So I pulled together some extra recipes, tips and tricks, and a few Christmas projects to add to the original content in order to create an expanded second edition. It contains 33 new recipes.

With a total of 82 recipes and 39 full-color photos, you'll find my tried-and-true recipes for beverages, cakes, candy, snacks, pies and cheesecakes. There are instructions for making 13 jar-mixes, some vintage recipes from the 1950s, a section of tips and tricks, and 5 holiday projects. The whole book is sprinkled with my sketches as well as vintage ads and illustrations. You can find a detailed list of the book's contents here.

I dedicated this cookbook to my Grandma Meier because she was the one who taught me my love of baking. Included in this book are some of her vintage recipes compiled while she was in a baking club in the 1950s. Many have her handwritten notes on them. They are so special to me. In the book I also share memories of my grandma at Christmastime.

This recipe for homemade cheese is very, very easy. No special equipment is needed. The texture of the cheese reminds me of feta, which I love. You can slice it, spread it on crackers and sandwiches and crumble it on your salads etc.  I used some of it on a chicken pizza, and wow, so delicious. Homemade No-Churn Ice Cream Sundaes

Homemade ice cream sundaes from scratch!  I have had a hankering for ice cream lately. I really enjoy making it at home with ingredients I can pronounce. No fancy machine needed! I like to embellish my sundaes a bit with homemade chocolate ganache sauce or strawberry sauce. You can stick a chocolate caramel turtle on your chocolate sundae as well. Yum!  Am I eating them all myself? No! I always share with my family, of course!  I made them just in time too because I started to get a sore throat last night. This ice cream really feels soothing going down. It's so creamy and smooth.  With the recipe for the vanilla ice cream below, you can use it as a base for whatever kind of ice cream you want to make. Just add fruits and sauces to change the flavor. You can add peanut butter too. The sky's the limit. To freeze, I put the ice cream in Glad® plastic containers.
